Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi's office announced on Saturday that the Supreme Council against Corruption had reviewed 8,824 cases of integrity before the judiciary in 2019, pointing out that Abdul Mahdi directed the necessity of the commitment of the Ministry of Oil to implement the recommendations on the file of oil smuggling.
"The Supreme Council for Combating Corruption held its seventeenth session under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, and reviewed the latest developments, especially with regard to the measures taken in the field of combating corruption by the executive, judicial and supervisory authorities," the office said in a statement. He continued, "The Council reviewed the draft memorandum of understanding with the Iranian side on the file of combating drugs and integrated measures that are in the interest of the two countries," noting that Abdul-Mahdi "tasked the relevant authorities to prepare a comprehensive study to ensure aspects of drug control, and enable the cadres, and provide equipment and tools, It also made this draft a basis for the conclusion of further agreements with neighboring and regional states, as well as bilateral agreements with various countries, and the need to expeditiously finalize and sign these agreements. ”
The statement pointed to "discuss the report of the Commission on the integrity of companies operating in the field of customs clearance at the border outlets, which did not meet the legal requirements," adding that the Council directed to "take legal procedures and hold accountable all violators and those involved in this aspect."
