, a member of the Parliamentary Committee for Economy and Investment Riyad al-Tamimi, on Thursday, that Iraq wasted more than 4,000 infrastructure projects during six years and caused waste of more than 200 trillion dinars.
Tamimi said in a statement received (Mawazine News) a copy, that "the Council of Ministers issued at the time of the economic crisis resolution 347 in 2015 allowed companies to work on the dissolution of a consensual contract or settlement or completion or investment," noting that "the use of this decision was bad More than 4,000 infrastructure projects have been wasted since 2008 and up to 2014 caused a waste of public money of more than 200 trillion dinars.
Al-Tamimi attributed this to that "the corrupt exploited this decision for their own interests and for the agendas of corruption and this is proven and personalized and at the level of an investigation committee on this subject," noting that "the current government began to continue to work and created funds for it and we as an economic and investment committee "Previous projects and then new projects."
He added that "direct implementation projects and the implementation of the Secretariat are given to cases of emergency and to revitalize the private sector, which on the contrary killed the private sector and local companies," noting that "was diagnosed by a letter to the Prime Minister and another to the Ministry of Finance."
