The Information Office of Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi issued a statement on Saturday about the bombing at one of the entrances to the province of Karbala, which resulted in the death of 17 people between the dead and wounded.
"The Prime Minister is following with deep sorrow and interest the cowardly terrorist attack that targeted a taxi carrying citizens between the holy provinces of Babylon and Karbala," the office said in the statement.
The statement added that "medical teams rushed to transfer the martyrs and wounded to nearby hospitals, and the security services were quick to arrest the terrorist carried out with the cooperation of the people."
