Tehran imposes crisis on Baghdad and threatens to target US forces in Iraq

TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran will target US forces in Iraq in case of any attack, Iran's ambassador to Baghdad said on Friday.
The Iraqi political source, on Thursday, moves by Iraqi President Barham Saleh on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York to reduce tension between the United States and Iran.
The source told RT that "Saleh put the idea of the conference to the heads of Arab and European countries and the United States as well as Saudi Arabia," noting that "the proposal provides for a conference in Baghdad to reduce tension in the region."
He added that "the Iraqi president is waiting for responses from the countries concerned about the proposal, note that the countries in the European Union agreed to this."
In a speech to the General Assembly of the United Nations, Saleh expressed his country's concern about the developments and escalation in the Gulf region, following the targeting of Aramco facilities, stressing that Iraq will not be part of an axis against another.
