    Information / Baghdad ..
back South Korea once again to the idea of establishing a nuclear submarine fleet.
Defenseworld.net reported October 10 that South Korea has set up a task force to design nuclear submarines.
In 2004, the media first confirmed South Korea's long-term plans to arm its military with nuclear-powered submarines. The scandal forced the military leadership to close the program at the time.
The South Korean navy command now seems to have decided to return to that idea. Its press office noted that the team was tasked with studying the possibilities only.
According to unofficial information, nuclear submarines could be built at the Chang Bogo III submarine base of the South Korean Navy, where three batches of nuclear submarines are planned to be launched with modifications in each subsequent batch.
The first batch of submarines is 83.5 meters long and has a displacement of 3,000 tons. It is supposed to be equipped with multi-task winged missiles manufactured by the company LIG Nex1 where each platform includes six missiles, as well as torpedoes.
