    Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) -The Special Representative of the UN’s Secretary General, Martin Kobler, expressed the readiness of the UN to help in settling the political crisis in Iraq.
    A statement by the Kurdistan Regional Government received by IraqiNews.com cited “The Prime Minister of KR, Nijervan Barzani, received Kobler where they discussed the latest political developments in Iraq and the region in addition to the initiatives that are exerted to settle the political crisis in Iraq.”
    The statement quoted Kobler, as saying “The aim of my visit to KR is to be acquainted with the political stance of KR to bring success to the exerted efforts to settle the crisis,” noting that “The UN is ready to help in settling the crisis and sustain stability in Iraq.”
    “Barzani appreciated Kobler’s role in this issue, assuring that the Kurdistani side aims at settling all the pending issues through the dialogue and the constitution,” the statement added.
    “Barzani assured that the Kurdish sides are adherent to the national reconciliation without discriminating any side, stressing the necessity of listening to all sides to bring success to the political process and the real partnership in Iraq,” the statement concluded.

    Erbil (IraqiNews.com) -The Undersecretary of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Barham Saleh, discussed with the UN Secretary General’ Special Representative for Iraq, Martin Kobler, the current political crisis being experienced by Iraq and the role of the United Nations and the international community in addressing it.
    A statement by the PUK cited on Tuesday “Saleh received Kobler in Erbil in presence of senior Kurdish officials where they discussed the political situation in Kurdistan Region, Iraq and in the region.”
    “The two sides also discussed the current political crisis in Iraq and the importance of the UN and the international community’s role in resolving it,” the statement added.
