(Baghdad: Al Furat News) The Minister of Planning, Nuri Sabah Al-Dulaimi, announced the issuance of 440 patents and the registration of 800 new applications during the year 2019.
This came during its opening, today, Thursday, in the Central Organization for Standardization and Quality Control, a modern laboratory to examine genetically modified foods, the first of its kind in Iraq, and another to compare weights, in implementation of the Ministry of Planning's vision to protect the consumer and ensure its safety, and to prepare solid specifications and monitor their implementation and adherence to them.
Al-Dulaimi mentioned during his honor a number of Iraqi inventors and producers during 2019, that the ministry issued 440 patents and registered 800 new applications during 2019, with a growth rate of 7% compared to last year 2018.
While he praised the distinguished Iraqi scientists and inventors, the efforts of Iraqi talent and its relentless pursuit towards Achieving excellence in various scientific fields, confirming the ministry's endeavor to provide all appropriate conditions for the Iraqi inventor and working with countries with pioneering experiences in this field to sign memoranda of understanding in order to achieve this goal.
Al-Dulaimi pointed out the importance of maintaining bridges of communication between Iraqi inventors and creators abroad and calling them to put fingerprints of their success in Iraq and keeping pace with development in all fields, while Dr. Nuri Al-Dulaimi indicated the ministry’s keenness to build solid partnerships with the private sector to achieve real support for the Iraqi creator and the national product.
