{Baghdad: Al Furat News} The former head of the Integrity Commission, Hassan Al-Yasiri, explained the constitution’s rule in announcing the President of the Republic, Barham Saleh, preparing to resign.
Al-Yasiri said in a statement that the Al-Furat News Agency received a copy of it, "The President's speech addressed to Parliament in which he expresses his willingness to submit his resignation does not mean submitting the resignation at all, and does not arrange any constitutional impact, which makes it a political behavior that has nothing to do with the constitution."
"If the President of the Republic wanted to submit the resignation, he would have announced it directly and openly, so resignation is one thing, and declaring his willingness to present it is another thing," he added.
"If we assume for the sake of argument that he (the President of the Republic) submitted the resignation later, then it does not depend on the acceptance of the House of Representatives and does not need to vote, and it is effective after seven days have passed since the date of its deposit with the House, that is an explicit text that cannot be interpreted unless those who do not know it speak ".
The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, yesterday refused to assign the candidate of the parliamentary "Al-Bana" bloc, Governor of Basra, Asaad Al-Eidani, to head the government, saying that he was ready to submit his resignation to Parliament.
In an angry statement, the Construction Alliance attacked the President of the Republic for rejecting his candidate Al-Aidani and accused him of "resorting to the policy of killing time and sending messages to this party and that" calling "the House of Representatives to take legal measures against the President of the Republic to swear to the right and violate the constitution" in reference to his dismissal.
