The resumption of train traffic between Baghdad and Basra after an interruption of 4 months

The General Company for Iraqi Railways announced the resumption of the movement of its up and down trains to transport passengers from Baghdad to Basra, and vice versa, through the southern governorates (Nasiriyah, Samawiyah, Diwaniyah, Hilla), as of Monday, 18/2/2020, after a break of 4 months.
The company pointed out in a statement received by "Al-Iqtisad News", all efforts were enlarged and capacities multiplied to prepare and operate modern air-conditioned trains (DMU) in preparation for the smooth flow of transportation daily to serve the esteemed and departing travelers through the main stations in Baghdad, Basra and the general governorates in addition to the role of the central control to monitor the movement of trains through Advanced GPS tracking system.
It is noteworthy that the running times for the descending and descending trains will be from Baghdad to Basra and vice versa daily.
