The Border Ports Authority discussed, on Wednesday, the mechanism required to reopen the border ports in front of the commercial exchange movement, after the decision to close them due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus.
The media of the commission stated in a statement received by / Mawazine News / a copy of it, that "the Border Ports Authority Authority held a meeting of the Board of the Commission, headed by Omar Al-Waeli and membership of representatives of ministries and government agencies working in the border ports as well as the relevant governorates, via a television circle in the presence of the Director General of the Administrative and Financial Department And Director General of the Legal Department of the Border Ports Authority.
The meeting added, "The meeting discussed the agenda, which included several axes, including the discussion of Cabinet Resolution No. (84) for the year 2020, which stressed the importance of the administration unit in border crossings and defining the tasks of the authority according to what its law guaranteed in supervision, control, audit and security investigation on the departments operating in Border outlets and abide by the binding directives it contained.
He continued: "The meeting also discussed discussing the mechanism required to reopen the border crossing points in front of the commercial exchange movement after the decision to close it due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus, provided that the goods entering are restricted to food and health items exclusively, and that all of them are subject to laboratory and technical examination procedures to ensure their safety on the health of the citizen."
The meeting stressed, "The importance of obligating the security authorities to implement their duties on the need to coordinate with the director of the border outlet, as he is the head of the intelligence cell inside the border outlet."
Within the agenda, the request submitted by the Ministry of Defense, which includes enabling them to graduate the military missions received by them and having a permanent presence in the border crossing, was discussed.
Council members agreed, "This permanent presence is not required and assistance is provided to them upon receiving their consignments." Ended 6/29 n
