Today, Wednesday, the Council of Ministers in the Kurdistan Region discussed the latest developments regarding the two draft laws of the federal budget and the regional budget.
This came as the regular weekly meeting of the Council headed by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister.
At the outset of the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the negotiating delegation reviewed the latest developments in discussions with the federal government on the financial dues for the Kurdistan Region within the framework of the Federal Budget Law for the year 2021. He confirmed the continuation of the talks with a better readiness to solve this issue.
After that, Minister of Finance and Economy, Awat Sheikh Janab, and Planning, Dara Rashid, shed light on the latest preparations for the Kurdistan Region Budget Law for 2021, and the two ministers indicated that most of the ministries' statements are ready to formulate a transparent and realistic draft.
In another axis of the meeting, the Minister of Planning presented a draft amendment of the partnership between the public and private sectors in the Kurdistan Region. After discussion and exchange of views, the draft amendment was approved.
A vote was also taken during the meeting on the draft law of the Kurdistan Regional Electricity Ministry, which was presented by Minister of Electricity Kamal Muhammad Salih.
At the conclusion of the meeting's axes, Minister of Health Saman Barzanji reviewed a report on the epidemiological situation of the mutated Corona virus and the ministry's plans to confront it.
The Minister of Education, Alan Hama Saeed, confirmed the continuation of the educational process, provided that health measures are observed in order to protect the safety and lives of students, pupils, teachers and workers in the field of education and educational centers.
After the Council of Ministers thanked the Ministry of Health and other concerned ministries, at the same time, he instructed the ministries and government departments to observe preventive measures and health guidelines, and called on citizens to cooperate with the plans and directives of the Kurdistan Regional Government to limit the spread of the mutated virus.
