The Council of Ministers decided to suspend the official working hours for tomorrow, Wednesday, in the capital, Baghdad, on the occasion of the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Musa bin Jaafar al-Kadhim (peace be upon him).
"The Council of Ministers decided to suspend official working hours tomorrow in the capital, Baghdad, on the occasion of the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Musa bin Jaafar al-Kadhim, peace be upon him," with the exception of the service and security departments.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, coincides with the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam Musa bin Jaafar Al-Kadhim (peace be upon him), in the year 183 AH, when he was poisoned by his food in Al-Sindi prison, where he spent most of his life years, during the period of the background rule of Harun Al-Rashid.
On this occasion, millions of Shiite Muslims celebrate the rituals of visiting the shrine of the Imam in the Al-Kazemi area, north of Baghdad, by walking on foot, with the spread of processions providing food to the visitors of the Imam throughout their journey until they reach the shrine.
These days are witnessing tight security measures to preserve the visitor’s safety from any security breaches that may occur or targeting them. Yesterday, a hand grenade was detonated and placed in a garbage dump in the Adhamiya area adjacent to Kadhimiya, which is the visitor’s route, killing a woman, wounding dozens.
