Kuwait announced today, Thursday, that it will receive 8 tons of its lost archive during the Iraq-Kuwait war, while it confirmed that it will hand over the remains of the Iraqi soldier, who was recently found, to the Iraqi side, according to the Kuwaiti Al-Rai newspaper.

The Kuwaiti newspaper quoted the Iraqi ambassador to Kuwait, Al-Manhal Al-Safi, as saying that "Kuwait will be handed over part of the Kuwaiti property and archive that was found through search and investigation operations in all Iraqi regions next Sunday at the headquarters of the Diplomatic Institute."
Al-Safi added, "The Iraqi side confirmed that this process is part of Iraq's obligations towards Kuwait with regard to the relevant United Nations resolutions," noting that "Iraq requested the Kuwaiti side to inform it about the details of any missing items during the war to facilitate the process of finding them and returning them to Kuwait," In addition to showing the Iraqi side bonuses for anyone who points out any lost Kuwaiti property.
He explained, "Kuwait will hand over 8 tons of the archive that was found from books and other belongings, and that Kuwait will also hand over the remains of the Iraqi soldier who was found on Bubiyan Island to Iraq after the end of the genetic tests that indicated it."
He pointed out, "The handover process will take place in the presence of the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Kuwait, and that the remains of the Iraqi soldier will be handed over in the presence of a representative of the United Nations and a representative of the International Committee of the Red Cross."
