The Parliamentary Economic Committee clarified, on Saturday, the inherited defects in successive governments that affected the creation of job opportunities for the unemployed, as well as the noticeable government slack.
Committee member Uday al-Shaalan said in a press interview, that "one of the most important mistakes that the inherited governments made in Iraq is not dealing with the investment file, which has pushed the government to slack in a way that cannot be discussed," indicating that "investment is one of the tools for developing the economy and creating great job opportunities." Especially in Iraq, but according to well-thought-out plans that take into consideration the maximum benefit from the workers and their training after referring their factories for investment. "
He added, "The other mistake is not relying on local factories and factories and closing most of them, especially those that help in supplying the ration card and relying on import," explaining that "some of the factories that were referred for investment were dispensed with thousands of their employees, which prompted their ministry to transfer them to Other institutions and formations, which led to a major defect, which was government slack because of the large numbers of employees without any real work. "
He pointed out that "Iraq is a land of virgin birth, and the opportunities are still favorable for the activation of factories and factories, as well as the activation of agriculture and the cessation of import. The real investment is in developing human capabilities, maintaining production and providing job opportunities," noting that "the aforementioned matters need statesmen and a real desire seeking to advance the country's reality ".
