Today, Wednesday, the Parliamentary Legal Committee announced the preparation of two drafts of legislation to legislate a general amnesty law for some of those sentenced, while it revealed their two formulas.

Committee member Hassan Fadam said, "The Legal Committee in the House of Representatives has prepared two drafts to legislate the new amnesty law. The first version includes the issuance of an amnesty that excludes those convicted of financial and administrative corruption, drugs and incest, as well as other criminal cases."

He added, "The second formula stipulated the payment of a cash allowance for those convicted, as the current convicted person or those who will be adjudicated in the future are given the choice between serving the period of detention or paying a cash allowance for each day, month or year of their sentence, with the exception of criminal offenses from this pardon."

Fadam confirmed that "these drafts are ready in the legal committee and are waiting for a signal from the Presidency of the Council of Representatives to prepare them and put them to the Council," indicating that "so far there is no green light to present the two drafts."

Fadam indicated that this is "due to the parliament’s preoccupation in the previous period with other laws, such as the election law, the Federal Court, and the budget, as they were urgent laws." .
