    Yes Iraq: Baghdad

Adviser to the Anbar Governor for Oil and Energy, Aziz Tarmouz, criticized the Ministry of Electricity's reluctance to complete the work on the crutch gas station, while the ministry confirmed that it had taken steps to overcome obstacles to complete the mentioned station after the availability of the necessary allocations to complete it and link it to the national network soon.

In a statement to the official press, Tarmoz said, "The cadres of the West Anbar Electric Power Transmission Company and the project implementation division of the Electric Power Transmission Company in the central region have begun rehabilitating the Al-Qaim (400KV) network in order to connect it to the Cruz gas station and then connect the station to the national grid."

And he indicated that "the crutch gas power station includes two units, each unit produces 125 mica. The company assigned to it has completed the implementation of the first unit and is now under trial operation." He pointed out that "the station is located in Al-Qaim district, and work began on it in 2021, and it works on liquid gas fuel." And gas oil, and the Ministry of Oil has connected it with the Taiwan-Qaim gas pipeline network for the continuation of the supply of liquid laurel, and it also works on gas oil.”

He explained that “the Ministry of Oil granted approvals to equip the station with liquid gas and gas oil, and the contract for the construction of this station was referred by the Ministry of Electricity to the (Echo of the Stars) company at a cost of 47 million dollars,” noting that “the reason for the failure of the station’s construction in the past was due ISIS occupation of Anbar.” However, Tarmouz attributed the delay in connecting this station to the national grid to “the delay of the Ministry of Electricity in completing its connection.”

On the reason for the delay in connecting the station to the national grid and accusing the governor’s advisor to the Ministry of Electricity of being reluctant, the spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity, Ahmed Musa Al-Abadi, told Al-Sabah, that “works have been completed at this station and work is underway to install (Auto) stations, power transformers, and a working group has been formed by The ministry undertakes the completion of the station’s shortcomings and the completion of all transmission lines to connect the crutch station to the areas of Al-Qaim, and this team began its work 4 days ago according to a ministerial order, stressing that “the works will be completed soon after the necessary amounts have been allocated for them. We will complete the work and benefit from the western regions, specifically the existing and about it.”

Al-Abadi indicated that “there were delays due to the lack of approval of the budget and the delay in contracting with the company executing the project as well, and thus the problem and obstacles were overcome, the necessary funds were provided, and a work team was formed to complete and connect the station’s shortcomings.”
