The Independent High Electoral Commission announced, on Friday, that it is in the process of printing more than one million new biometric cards.
Commission spokeswoman Jumana al-Ghalay said, according to the official media, that "the number of new voters from the three births from 2001 to 2003 is more than two million, one million of whom had their electoral cards printed, while the cards for the rest were not," pointing out that "newborns who did not Participate in the previous elections from among the citizens who updated their biometric data, as well as the displaced.”
She added that "the commission sent to the Spanish company Andra nearly 1.3 million personal data of voters for the purpose of printing new cards." Ended 29/A43
