On Thursday, the Ministry of Commerce announced the launch of the activities of the comprehensive Basra International Fair in the province, with the participation of local, Arab and international companies, which will last for the period from the sixteenth to the twenty-fifth of June.
The Director General of the General Company for Iraqi Fairs and Commercial Services, one of the ministry's formations, Sarmad Taha Saeed, said in a statement received by "Economy News", that the exhibition was attended by more than 100 companies from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Italy, France, Pakistan, Turkey, Iran, Egypt and the UAE. , Lebanon and Syria, including the participation of distinguished local companies.
He pointed out that the exhibition witnessed the display of a variety of agricultural, industrial and commercial products, which include types of carpets, various decorations, fabrics, types of detergents, foodstuffs, types of canned goods, incense, perfumes, clothing, furniture, antiques, handicrafts, copper, ornaments, accessories and some types of kitchen tools, as well as the participation of the Husseiniya threshold.
He explained that the establishment of such exhibitions is a great opportunity for international companies participating in order to display their productions in the Iraqi market, which is considered one of the promising markets, in addition to the openness of Iraqi businessmen and traders to obtain exclusive agencies from these international companies, in addition to being an important step in order to contribute to the Increasing and encouraging the volume of trade exchange and expertise, and activating relations between Iraqi merchants and their counterparts in various countries of the world.
According to the statement, the opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by the Director of the Basra Ports Company, Farhan Al-Fartousi, the Turkish Consul, Muhammad Ozkan Arman, the Director of Youth and Sports in Basra, Sadiq Al-Kinani, and the representative of the Husseiniya Shrine, Ali Al-Musawi, as well as commercial and economic figures, some businessmen and a large gathering of citizens, noting that the exhibition was organized by the Hope Point Company.
