Today, Thursday, the Minister of Electricity of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Kamal Muhammad Salih, discussed ways to invest associated gas with oil in the Shekhan field, with Stuart Cattrall, CEO of Gulf Keystone Petroleum Company.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the benefit will be similar to the Garmian plant, which has a production capacity of 165 megawatts, which will be implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Natural Resources.
The ministry said that the use of associated gas in oil fields for power supply stations will reduce electricity production costs.
And the Ministry of Electricity of the Kurdistan Regional Government announced last Sunday, a decrease in the hours of supplying energy on the national grid in all regions and cities of the region due to the decrease in the rate of gas supply from the Khurmala station, and the suspension of two other gas stations in Erbil due to a “technical problem.
