    On Sunday, the Parliament’s Economy and Investment Committee called on Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi to abolish the ministries of commerce, agriculture and industry and merge them into one ministry.

     

    Committee member Nada Shaker Jawdat said that "the ministries of commerce, industry and agriculture have become a burden on the state and citizens in terms of financial and economic terms."

     

    She added, "The citizen, the farmer and the industrialist no longer see anything but the suffering of those ministries," stressing "the need to abolish these ministries and make them one ministry concerned with the economy."

     

    Jawdat pointed out that "the poor are the most affected by these ministries and the most corrupt
