The Ministry of Labor intends to cover 1.5 million families with benefits

{Local: Al Furat: News} The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs is heading to expand the coverage area with subsidies to 1.5 million families with subsidies during the next three years, while warning against issuing a smart card for granting the amount of the subsidy non-fundamentalism.

The head of the social body in the ministry, Huda Sajjad, said in a reporter, "The commission's strategy to reduce poverty for the next three years, after exceeding 29%, is to expand the coverage area with social protection to 500,000 families per year, but this needs financial coverage from the Ministry of Finance," noting that "the city of Baghdad has the largest number of families benefiting from the amount of social assistance, distributed between 150 thousand families for men and 110 thousand families for women, in addition to thousands of beneficiaries who were not included."
She added that "the importance of implementing the government's strategy to prepare a budget for the Social Protection Authority for the next three years in cooperation with the ministries of planning and finance to eradicate poverty and dry up its focus," pointing to "the need to rehabilitate groups who are able to work and train them according to market requirements to reduce unemployment and provide subsidy amounts to those who are more deserving than disabled people who are unable to work.”
The head of the authority indicated that "the ministry's reform project to correct the path of social protection and rehabilitation centers and the need to update a unified and solid database between departments and institutions to classify the unemployed who are able to work from others," noting that "the implementation of this project will provide many projects for young people looking for work to economically empower them who are registered Within the ministry's database and the provision of additional sums that enable the ministry to include other numbers of the disabled in social protection."
Sajjad explained that "the authority directed not to issue any smart card for granting the amount of subsidy except by an official letter addressed to the international company for the smart card in order to prevent exploitation of those below the poverty line by the weak-hearted, especially after issuing cards to some citizens by some private offices."
