the government responded, on Monday, to political parties' questioning of the credibility of implementing the US withdrawal decision.
The official spokesman for the government, Hassan Nazim, said, according to the official newspaper, that "the strategic dialogue with the United States of America has many dimensions and we should not focus only on the issue of withdrawal, because this file was resolved during the prime minister's recent visit to Washington."
He added, "As there was a decision by the House of Representatives to withdraw American combat forces from Iraq, and the government worked on this file in rounds of dialogue, especially since Al-Kazemi's meeting with US President John Biden led to setting a date for the withdrawal of American forces on the 31st of next December. And there are no large files left, including economic, security and cultural files, all of which are being worked on."
Nazim pointed out, "There are political parties that question the credibility of the withdrawal agreement, and I respond to these doubts, but we are waiting for the announced date on the 31st of next December, which is the deadline for withdrawal." Ended 29/A43
