{Local: Al Furat News} The Electoral Commission announced the start of the process of submitting appeals against the election results, noting that the deadline for submitting appeals will last for three days, starting today, Tuesday.
Electoral Commission spokeswoman Jumana Al-Ghalai said in a press statement, "The deadline for submitting appeals against the election results begins one day after the results are announced, and lasts for three days," noting that 25 complaints were received on the special ballot, and 94 complaints on the general ballot.
She pointed out that "under Article 20 of the Electoral Law, the decisions of the Board of Commissioners regarding the results are appealed within three days, starting from the day following the publication, and the Commission responds to the appeals submitted to it or to the Judicial Commission for Elections within a period not exceeding seven working days from the date of publication. The request is received, while the electoral judiciary decides on the appeal within a period not exceeding ten working days from the date of the commission’s response to the appeal. After all administrative procedures are completed, it is decided to announce and ratify the names of the next parliament members.
