A source in the "Progress" coalition confirmed, on Wednesday, that the presidency of the House of Representatives is "settled" for the coalition's leader, Muhammad al-Halbousi, and that there is a preliminary agreement with the large Sunni blocs in this regard.
The source explained that "some of the winning representatives from the Sunni component hold meetings and visit with the aim of putting their names among the candidates for parliament's presidency, but they ignore the language of numbers, as they do not have the appropriate number to obtain this position."
Indicating that "whoever wants to compete for the presidency of the House of Representatives must secure the support of at least 50 parliamentary seats."
