{Political: Al Furat News} My coalition voted unanimously to nominate the head of the Alliance, Muhammad al-Halbousi, to head the Iraqi parliament in its fifth session.
Al-Halbousi's media office stated in a brief statement that {Euphrates News} received a copy of it, that "Khamis al-Khanjar was voted unanimously as the head of the coalition, and Muhammad al-Halbousi was a candidate for the presidency of the House of Representatives, in the presence of 67 deputies."
The Alliance won 37 seats in the last parliamentary elections, which took place last October, while there was a violation of resolve on 14 seats.
The agreement comes on the eve of the parliament's first session to elect a speaker and two deputies.
