Head of the National Alliance, Ibrahim Jaafary discussed on Tuesday with the Turkish ambassador in Baghdad ways to develop the strategic relations between the two countries, and open a new chapter of political, security and economic cooperation during the coming period.

A statement by the Jaafary’s office received by Iraqi News cited “The two sides pointed to the size of the challenges and risks represented with the IS organizations, and its repercussions on the region; and stressed the need to intensify efforts and work jointly to overcome them.”

“The two sides also condemned the Israeli attacks on Gaza Strip, and the tragic humanitarian cases, as well as the difficult living conditions, and the importance of finding solutions to end the suffering of the Palestinian people,” the statement added.

“For his part, the Turkish ambassador pointed to his country’s support for the stability of Iraq, and to strengthen relations between the two countries at various levels,” according to the statement./End/
