Al-Kazemi assigns a new governor to Najaf... and the Sadrist movement heralds a new stage
Shafaq News/ Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi assigned, on Wednesday, a new governor of Najaf, nearly two weeks after the resignation of its governor.
The source told Shafaq News Agency, "Al-Kazemi appointed Majid Al-Waeli as governor of Najaf to succeed the resigned Louay Al-Yasiri."
Al-Waeli is a former deputy from the Sadrist movement's Sairoon Alliance.
For his part, the head of the Sadrist bloc, Hassan Al-Athari, commented in a Facebook post on the assignment, saying, "The Najaf Governorate will enter a new phase of reconstruction, providing services and fighting corruption and the corrupt."
