The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed today, Wednesday, the need to strengthen bilateral relations between Iraq and Iran in various fields.
A statement by the Presidential Information Office stated, "The President of the Republic, Dr. Barham Salih, received at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the Iranian President's assistant, head of the Iranian Martyrs Foundation, Amir Hossein Qazizadeh Hashemi."
He added, "Hashemi conveyed the greetings of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi to President Barham Salih, while President Salih conveyed his greetings to the Iranian president."
He added, "During the meeting, they discussed the strong bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries, and their importance for the two friendly peoples to serve the two countries and the whole region."
He pointed out, "In the meeting, it was stressed the need to strengthen relations between the two countries in various fields, exchange experiences in various sectors and activate understandings and agreements concluded between the two sides in various fields through investment and service plans and projects established in this regard."
Amir Hossein Qazizadeh Hashemi affirmed, during the meeting, "the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for Iraq in various fields, and its endeavor to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in a manner that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples."
