On Thursday, the head of the Sadrist Parliamentary Bloc, Hassan Al-Adari, numbered nine points that will benefit from the parliament session scheduled for next Saturday.
The Iraqi Council of Representatives is scheduled to hold, on Saturday, a regular session, which was included in its agenda, to vote on choosing a new president for the country.
Yesterday, Wednesday, the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Sadrist bloc announced the Sovereignty Alliance, the formation of the Parliamentary “Save the Homeland” coalition, while they presented “Reber Ahmed” as a candidate for the post of President of the Republic and “Muhammad Jaafar al-Sadr” for prime minister.
Al-Adhari said, in a statement, that “one of the fruits of the parliament session scheduled for next Saturday is the formation of the Iraqi government by a free Iraqi decision and will for the first time, in addition to approving the 2022 budget, and getting the country out of an expected economic crisis.”
He added: It will also "accelerate the approval of service projects and infrastructure for the country, and the approval of projects and laws that are submitted from the government to the House of Representatives, and activating the oversight role of Parliament over the government, in addition to the members of Parliament exercising their parliamentary role through the formation of committees and parliament sessions."
Al-Adhari pledged, “to create a democratic, competitive and representative atmosphere that is in the interest of the country, as well as fulfilling the promises made by the representatives to their constituents and providing the service they deserve,” adding, “There are multiple benefits that are too long to mention, so do not sell the harvest of your planting to others, Iraq is the first.”
