The Iraqi Minister of Interior announces that Iran will gradually cancel entry visas between the two countries
Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Minister of Interior, Othman Al-Ghanimi, announced on Tuesday that his country's government is gradually canceling entry visas with Iran.
Al-Ghanimi said in a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart in the capital, Tehran, after his arrival in Iran on an official visit, that "the visa can be canceled for nearly 2,000 Iranian visitors per day.
On the axes of his visit, the minister said that he met with his Iranian counterpart, and that "during this meeting, we discussed the issue of ensuring security on the common borders between the two countries and many issues of common concern, including illegal border crossings and drug and human trafficking."
He added, "The outbreak of the Corona epidemic had a negative impact on the movement of visitors between the two countries, and after controlling this disease, we witnessed the opening of air corridors between the two countries and the cancellation of visas for air travelers between Iraq and Iran."
Referring to the cost of flights, Al-Ghanimi said, "We are working to provide the necessary facilities for visitors to the Arbaeen."
