"Al-Maliki" decides to appeal the resignation of the Sadrist bloc's deputies before the Federal Court
Shafaq News/ A member of the State of Law coalition from Basra Governorate, Durgham al-Maliki, announced on Tuesday his intention to appeal the mass resignation of the Sadrist bloc's deputies before the Federal Supreme Court (the highest judicial authority) in Iraq.
Al-Maliki said in a statement today, "I will appeal before the Federal Court the resignations of the brothers in the Sadrist bloc for the purpose of returning them to the political process to serve Iraq and its patient people."
On Sunday, Al-Sadr directed deputies of the Sadrist bloc in the Iraqi parliament to hand over their resignations to the speaker of the parliament, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, while he thanked his allies in the "Save the Homeland" coalition and told them that they "are in a solution."
