    Alsumaria News - Localities

The Integrity Commission called, today, Monday, to work to reduce the price of issuing the international vaccine card, and while it indicated that all those working on its issuance are employees of the Ministry of Health, it suggested expanding it and turning it into a (comprehensive health card).

And the authority stated in a statement received by Alsumaria News, that "the Prevention Department indicated, in a report prepared by its team, which was composed to conduct visits to the Ministry of Health and Environment and the Civil Aviation Authority, to follow up on the issue of issuing the international vaccine card, to the signing of a contract between the People's Medical Clinics Department and the National Company to issue the card." The role of the National Executing Company is limited to providing technical support and providing electronic devices and supplies.

The report, a copy of which was sent to the Minister of Health, called for reconsideration of “issuing the card, which constitutes a financial burden on the citizen, especially since most countries of the world did not work with it, noting that the Ministry of Health and Environment issued an order to start issuing the card starting from (6/9/2021) Informing all airlines operating in Iraqi airports to oblige citizens who wish to travel to present the international certificate of vaccination with the (Covid 19) vaccine, starting from (1/11/2021).

The report pointed out that “the amount of issuing the international vaccine card is (30) thousand dinars for Iraqis and (100) dollars for foreigners, indicating that the share of the second party (the National Company) amounts to (18) thousand dinars for each card, and the rest goes to the Department of Popular Medical Clinics. Pointing out that the National Company for Aviation, Air Cargo, Airport Services and Port Services Ltd. has submitted a feasibility study for the international vaccination certificate.

He suggested "expanding the card's data and transforming it into a (comprehensive health card) and including it as a "sick history" for the citizen, explaining that this data contributes to providing the Ministries of Health and Planning with disease statistics for the community and statistics for purchasing medicines, which helps them in developing future plans to meet health needs.

The report stated, "there is a memorandum of understanding signed between the ministries of health in Iraq and Jordan regarding the mutual recognition of certificates of vaccination against the virus, calling on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to intensify its efforts to conclude agreements with regional and global countries, for this purpose."
