The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghiath al-Sorji, confirmed, on Tuesday, that the meeting held by the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Fuad Hussein, and the head of the Union, Bagel Talabani, paved the way for a high-level meeting of the two parties to resolve the crisis of the presidency.
Al-Sorji said that "the stagnant waters between the two Kurdish parties began to move, by holding a direct meeting between the head of the National Union, Pavel Talabani, and the leader of the Democratic Party, Fouad Hussein, yesterday."
He added that "the meeting paved the way for a high-level meeting of the political librarians of Lekte and Al-Barti to resolve the crisis of agreement on the President of the Republic," stressing that "the meeting will be held before next Thursday."
Al-Sorji pointed out that "the meeting of Talabani and Hussein did not talk in depth about the crisis of the presidency."
It is noteworthy that a delegation from the Kurdistan Democratic Party headed by Fouad Hussein held a meeting on Monday in Sulaymaniyah with the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Talabani, to discuss the file of the presidency.
