[size=45]A committee in the House of Representatives reported that Nineveh’s Sinjar district needs $10 billion to rebuild it as a result of the destruction it suffered due to its occupation by the terrorist organization ISIS, while the Popular Mobilization Authority announced a security operation between the governorate’s borders and Salah al-Din.[/size]
[size=45]The head of the Parliamentary Services Committee, MP Mahma Khalil, said, "The Iraqi government has been reluctant to disregard the Sinjar district, and the local government is violating the rights of the judiciary," referring to "the theft of funds allocated to the region."[/size]
[size=45]Khalil added, "The frozen funds amounted to 28 billion dinars, of which 13 billion dinars were spent, while 15 billion dinars are still missing." He pointed out that "Sinjar's entitlement to the Emergency Food Security Support Law amounts to more than 300 billion dinars, which has not been allocated so far." Khalil talked about the possibility of "prosecuting the local government and the federal government, if there are any suspicions of corruption in this file." As for the need for the Sinjar district to be allocated for its complete reconstruction, Khalil replied, “Sinjar needs about 10 billion dollars, to rebuild all its sectors and compensate the affected people.”[/size]
[size=45]And the American magazine (Newsweek) had confirmed earlier that the Sinjar district of Nineveh Governorate is still devastated by the war, despite the passage of years since it was liberated from the terrorist organization ISIS, pointing out that his Yazidi children cannot return and suffer from neglect at the internal and external levels. According to the statistics of the General Directorate of Yazidi Affairs, 6,417 Yazidi citizens were martyred or kidnapped during the ISIS war in 2014, while about 120,000 others emigrated outside the country. On the eighth of last June, the Iraqi parliament voted on the emergency support law for food security and development. It is noteworthy that the number of displaced people from Sinjar district who live in the Kurdistan region is 330,000, 40,000 of whom live outside the camps.
