On his arrest, Muhammad explained that "my arrest as a deputy and the rest of the parliamentarians is a dangerous precedent and a violation of Iraqi laws and expresses a repressive stance that has no legal justification and a lack of respect for the immunity granted by law to the representatives."
He stressed that "the people in the Kurdistan region will continue their popular demonstrations to demand their rights, end corruption and stop violations for 31 years in the region until all their demands are met."
