    Tomorrow's Press / Basra: A delegation from the Standard Chartered Bank opportunities opening a branch in the province of Basra, and the possibility of cooperation in the field of economic and financial.
    The governor of Basra, said Majed Nasraoui in a statement seen by "tomorrow's Press," "A delegation from the World Bank in search of Basra, the possibility of bilateral cooperation and the opening of a branch of the bank after its branches in Baghdad and Erbil."
    He added that "Basra during the coming period will witness significant economic growth, which makes it imperative for the local government to build an integrated banking system."
    The statement continued on to San Nasraoui that "Basra is qualified to be the economic capital of Iraq because of the advancement of important economic factors, and therefore need a global financial entity to be able to provide the requirements of foreign investment."
    The statement stressed that "the local government aims to create a market for securities because it has elements of it," calling the visiting delegation for the meeting with the Economic Commission in the Office of the province to coordinate joint action. "
    It is said that Standard Chartered Bank opened its banking operations for the companies in Iraq with the opening of its headquarters in Iraq, and the first branch in Baghdad in November 2013.
