Today, Monday, Kurdistan Democratic Party MP Sabah Sobhi revealed the reasons for his party's insistence on keeping Fouad Hussein as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Sobhi said, "All the nominations come from the head of the Democratic Party, Massoud Barzani, who nominated Fouad Hussein for the position of the Foreign Ministry, and it is one of the sovereign ministries that undoubtedly belong to the Democratic Party."
He added, "The reason that prompted us to nominate Fouad Hussein is that he succeeded in activating relations between Iraq and all other regional and international countries, and we have made great strides in the issue of diplomatic and consular relations in all countries of the world, in addition to the integrity and transparency that characterizes Fouad, who is one of the poles of the current Iraqi political process." and future.”
And he indicated that "these specifications call us to nominate Fouad Hussein to this position, and we care a lot in one of the sovereign ministries, for just as the National Union obtained its share in the presidency, we have the right to obtain one of the sovereign ministries."
He explained that "by all standards and criteria, we are the largest Kurdish bloc, and we need to have justice in the distribution of ministerial portfolios."
