    Today, Monday, the Ministry of Commerce announced the establishment of a mechanism to follow up on markets and price hikes, while indicating the formation of teams to prevent the entry of prohibited materials.
    The Director of Financial and Commercial Control at the Ministry, Muhammad Hanoun, said, "The Minister of Commerce announced a control plan to follow up the local market and check materials that are prohibited from being imported and expired materials," pointing to "the formation of joint teams for the Commercial and Financial Control Department with the Organized Crime Department in the Ministry of Interior, from In order to follow the markets in all governorates.
    He added, "The local markets include large quantities of expired materials and other materials that are prohibited to be imported," indicating, "According to the decisions of the Council of Ministers, the Control Department has proceeded accurately in implementing the directives, in order to prevent the entry of materials into the local market."
    He pointed out that "the teams achieved positive results during the past days, by monitoring quantities of prohibited and expired materials," noting that "some materials were destroyed in front of these stores in a proactive step to prevent them from entering the local markets."
    He pointed out, "efforts to form joint tripartite teams with the National Security Agency and the Department of Organized Crime and Trade Control, aiming to prevent the entry of materials that are prohibited from importing, expired materials, and laboratories that do not have approvals from industrial development or health licenses."
    He continued, "Mechanisms will be put in place to follow up on local markets and high prices that affect the citizen," stressing that "the next stage will consist of auditing and control and preventing monopoly, as well as preventing the entry of expired and unlicensed materials, according to the instructions in force."
