U.S. appoints Phillip Gordon as new coordinator for the Middle East
BAGHDAD (Iba) .. The White House announced, on Saturday, announced the appointment of Philip Gordon as new coordinator of the United States for the Middle East and North Africa and the Gulf region, adding that he would work as a special assistant to President Barack Obama from March 11.
Said Tom Donilon, Advisor U.S. President in national security, “The Flip Gordon was a key element in Obama’s team in charge of foreign policy during the past four years,” adding that “the work done by Gordon was critical of U.S. foreign policy at the global level, particularly in the Libya, Syria and Iran. “
He served Flip Gordon, since May 2009, as Assistant Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, in charge of European Affairs, Asian, where he was responsible for coordinating U.S. policy with 50 European countries and Asian, as well as with member countries NATO Atlantic, the European Union and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
