Speaker of the Parliament, Muhammad al-Halbousi, warned of demonstrations during the next year, while revealing the fate of holding the Parliament and provincial elections.
Al-Halbousi said in a televised interview, followed by Mawazine News, that "the provincial council elections were approved in the ministerial platform of the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, and they will take place in October 2023," referring to "a trend to merge the laws of the parliament and provincial elections."
He added, "The Sudanese government has taken practical steps to combat corruption, but if no actual action takes place in 2023, corruption will never be fought."
Al-Halbousi warned of demonstrations next year if services are not provided, noting that "next year is a crossroads for the political system and many features will be determined in it."
And about his photo with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Al-Halbousi said: "I deal with countries with my Iraqi identity and my sovereign position, and I visit a neighboring country during the day, and it is not a secret." Ended 29 / H
