    The Muthanna Investment Commission announced the completion of a project for the private sector in the province to produce plastics, which will be the largest of its kind in the country and will fill its full need of plastic and granules.
    Many of the specialized factories in the country, numbering more than 260, were either looted or destroyed during or after 2003, or became obsolete or occurred in areas where disturbances prevailed for various reasons, according to the Official Gazette.
    The director of Muthanna Investment, Adel Dakhil Al-Yasiri, said, "The project, which is the first and most important of its kind at the level of the central and southern governorates of the country, depends on the production of (polymer) granules using machines that are the latest of their kind in the world and have European origins and a production capacity of 20 tons per day for the ampoule factory for the production of plastic bottles, and 25 tons per day for the PET factory (for the production of plastic cups, which will meet the needs of all water and juice bottling plants in Baghdad and the various provinces of the country).
    He added, in the same context, that "the project, implemented on an area of ​​ten dunams and at a cost of more than ten billion dinars, and its work was carried out within one year only, will provide 50 direct job opportunities for the people of the city of Samawah, in addition to dozens of job opportunities for its indirect economic importance, as well as reducing Draining foreign currency on buying imported products and adopting the local product as a basic alternative to it, since the factory will fill the country's entire need of plastic bottles and mugs.
