    However, Al-Sudani said that his government is taking measures to confront rampant corruption in Iraq through state institutions and the law, stressing the need for corruption not to be confronted in a selective manner or for purposes related to settling narrow scores with political opponents, "justifying the reason" by saying that it would harm the anti-corruption campaign itself.
    He added that the looted and smuggled money is an important issue for the Iraqis, stressing that, although there are no accurate and specific statistics regarding the amount of money looted or smuggled from Iraq; The current Iraqi government has placed the file of recovering the looted funds among its priorities.

    He said that Turkey represents a gateway for Iraq to Europe, and there are important projects that will be announced soon regarding partnership and cooperation between the two countries.
