Shafaq News/ The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, said on Sunday that if the Iraqi political parties did not abide by the agreement concluded between them, which resulted in the formation of the federal government, then there is no meaning for the Kurds to remain in this government, stressing at the same time that ISIS can still undermine security and stability in the country.
This came in a press conference held by President Nechirvan today to highlight the course of his visit to Germany and his attendance at the Munich Security Conference.

Nechirvan Barzani said during his speech that the Munich conference represented an opportunity for the Kurdistan Region to express its views and ideas naturally and communicate them to its partners in the international community without many protocols, describing the meetings he held with the personalities on the sidelines of the conference as "important" in order for them to see the views region and vice versa.
He added that the meetings focused on our situation, and focused more on our relations with Baghdad, which was a main focus in all meetings, indicating that the international community, in general, wants to help us solve problems between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad.
And the head of the region added by saying that the international community believes that it is necessary, from a political point of view, to consolidate stability in the country, and that resolving the differences between Erbil and Baghdad will enable better stability, and this is correct.
He said, "We have confirmed to all partners that the Kurdistan Region supports the Prime Minister and the current Iraqi government, and wants to resolve differences with Baghdad within the framework of the constitution, and we hope that Baghdad will share the same opinion with us and make a serious effort in this field."
The President touched on another axis of the meetings he held on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, which is the war between Russia and Ukraine. Within this framework, the issue of energy, which is of importance to those countries, was also discussed, and he said: Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region, can play a major role. in the field of energy.
He stressed that the Kurdistan Region has a special place in the international community.
He pointed out that until now, the issue of terrorism and ISIS is considered by the international community as a serious threat, and this coincides with the same vision that we have, as ISIS has not ended yet, and it can pose a serious threat in undermining the stability of Iraq.
Nechirvan Barzani said that all the delegations we met encouraged the Kurdish unity, and that the Kurdish political parties and parties solve their internal problems, and that they all be one bloc in order to solve the problems with Baghdad.
He stressed that terrorist threats exist, whether in Iraq, the Kurdistan Region or the Middle East, and we thanked the Americans and Europeans during the meetings for the support provided by them in the field of continued support in combating terrorism and its dangers, and we have expressed our readiness to continue cooperation and coordination in this field.
Regarding his meeting with Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani on the sidelines of the Munich conference, President Nechirvan Barzani said that he and al-Sudani stressed the need to resolve the differences between the regional government and the federal government as soon as possible, adding: We discussed the visit of the region's delegation to Baghdad that took place last week. .
He said, "We are serious about addressing those differences with Baghdad within the framework of the Iraqi constitution, and there is no other way for us, and that the current federal government was formed in partnership between the Kurds, the Shiite party and the Sunni party, and we agreed on its program and we wrote it and signed it," adding that "the other parties if It did not want to abide by the concluded political agreement, then there is no meaning for us - the Kurds - to remain in this government."
And he continued, "We demand and hope that the agreement that we wrote, which set a map for a solution to these problems, will be implemented," noting that what distinguishes the current federal government from its predecessors is that for the first time we have a written agreement to form it for this. Ministers and the Kurdistan Region to abide by the implementation of this agreement.
He also mentioned that it is still too early to assess the situation, as the Prime Minister assumed his duties four months ago, and we are optimistic that these problems will be resolved through dialogue and within the framework of the constitution.
