The Central Bank refutes {rumors}: they are continuing to sell the dollar

Most of the exchange offices in Baghdad began not to sell or buy dollars due to the instability of the dollar exchange rate, while members of the council warn of rumors that also called the rise in the exchange rate in the markets.
Despite the Central Bank refuting the news that the dollar will not be sold for cash in the coming days at the official rate of 130,000 per 100 dollars, the exchange rates recorded yesterday, Tuesday, an increase of 154,500 dinars per 100 dollars.
According to the “Al-Sabah” correspondent, “sale and purchase prices increased in exchange shops in the local markets, as the selling price reached 154,500 dinars per 100 dollars, while the purchase prices reached 153,500 dinars per 100 dollars.”
He added, "Most exchange offices do not sell or buy because of the instability of the exchange rate on the main stock exchange."
For his part, Soran Omar, a member of parliament, said in a statement that “one of the reasons for the rise in the value of the dollar is the spread of rumors that the central bank will not allow the dollar to be sold for cash in the coming days,” noting that “after contacting the governor of the central bank, he confirmed to me that this information is incorrect and that it is Untrue news, and any information issued outside the official websites of the Central Bank of Iraq, it is not permissible to take it or deal with it.
Omar, a deputy from Sulaymaniyah Governorate, continued, “It is necessary for exchange companies to enter the electronic system, as for small companies and ordinary citizens, when transferring, they can rely on the (Western Union) company.”
Regarding the results of the meeting with the US government, Soran saw that “the United States had comments on money laundering and smuggling of dollars, but regarding this new electronic system and its rules, there is consensus and consensus on it, and the process will be under close monitoring,” stressing that “all merchants, companies and factories enter the electronic system.” The new one takes time, but after a while, the difference will be controlled at the dollar exchange rate in the central bank and the market as well.
The Iraqi market is witnessing instability in selling the US currency, the dollar against the Iraqi dinar, despite the Iraqi government’s attempts and measures to curb currency smuggling, control the markets, set prices, and agree with the US side on a specific system to monitor this file, which directly affected the Iraqi economy and paralyzed the market to a large extent. .
In addition, sales of the Central Bank of Iraq jumped from the dollar during the auction yesterday, Tuesday, to 233 million and 921 thousand and 34 dollars, an increase of 124 percent compared to the day before yesterday, which amounted to 104 million and 216 thousand and 250 dollars.
The bank covered it at a basic exchange rate of 1,305 dinars per dollar for documentary credits and international settlements of electronic cards, at a rate of 1,310 dinars per dollar for foreign transfers, and at a rate of 1,310 dinars per dollar in cash.
Most of the dollar sales went to enhance balances abroad in the form of (transfers, credits) at 180 million 321 thousand 34 dollars, while the rest of 53 million and 600 thousand dollars went in the form of cash sales.
