{Economic: Al Furat News} The Parliamentary Finance Committee announced its intention to amend and reduce the expenditures of some chapters of the financial budget.
Committee member Mueen Al-Kadhimi told {Euphrates News} agency: "Despite the existence of a large deficit in the budget, the dues of those whose contracts have been terminated, lecturers, employees, and any similar parties will not be affected," noting that "with the limits of 6 trillion dinars allocated to these segments, they will not be compromised."
He added, "There is a possibility to reduce and amend some chapters of the budget, according to what the Finance Committee deems."
And the House of Representatives announced, on March 16, that it had received the draft budget law
It is noteworthy that the Council of Ministers approved, in its meeting on March 13, the three budgets and referred them to Parliament for approval.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani said, after the council meeting in a press conference, that: "The total budget is more than 197 trillion dinars, the operational budget is more than 150 trillion dinars, and the investment budget is more than 47 trillion, and the budget deficit is 63 trillion dinars."
And that "total revenues amount to more than 134 trillion dinars, and oil revenues amount to more than 117 trillion based on the price of oil at 70 dollars, and non-oil revenues amount to more than 17 trillion dinars."
