The General Authority of Customs announced, on Wednesday, that it had achieved the highest rate in its revenues, while it revealed that it had recovered about two billion and 800 million dinars.
The authority stated in a statement, that "the investigation and anti-smuggling departments in the customs areas were able to carry out about 141 different seizure operations at the gates of Baghdad, coming from the south, north and west of the capital, which resulted in the detention of more than (1656) trucks loaded with various goods in violation of import conditions, standardization and control." Quality".
And it reviewed, “activities, combating smuggling and referral to the judiciary during the first quarter of this year in its quarterly report,” indicating that “its revenues amounted to more than (214) billion dinars from customs duties proceeds for the period from (1/1/2023) to (31/). 3/2023), thus achieving an increase of approximately (14 billion dinars) compared to the same period of the previous year, in addition to being able at the same time to recover more than two billion and eight hundred million dinars as fee differences incurred by companies and importers, and this comes through taking a legal decision to stop dealing with The company that fails to pay differences in customs duties during the year 2022.
In its statement for the same period, the authority declared, "The confiscation of more than 150 kg and more than three million five hundred thousand tablets of narcotics and psychotropic substances, representing (18) consignments that were seized through the customs committees. It also contributed to and participated in the destruction of more than 180 kg of narcotic substances and more Of 300,000 narcotic pills, as well as the re-issue of about 26 consignments.
And she added, "Its investigative committees referred 3 employees to the judiciary through the Integrity Commission, while it issued administrative penalties against 46 employees and withdrew the hand of 9 employees based on the State Employees Discipline Law, and lifted the injustice in job entitlement for 217 employees of the Commission."
And she pointed out, “In the first procedure to activate the work with the instructions of the Disciplinary Committee, it decided to refer 6 cases to the Disciplinary Committee against customs clearance agents and their assistants, and to file (19) customs lawsuits against industrial projects for violating the provisions of the law, in addition to resolving 30 investigative committees that decided their decisions against customs clearance companies and companies.” As it was completed, (3509) transactions for vehicles were registered in accordance with the import controls.
In its statement, the authority affirmed that "the efforts are relentless and continuous in the field of technological transformation for all the authority's procedures," indicating that "the completion rate of the ASYCUDA system project amounted to (56%) of the first phase," and indicated that "the imposition of its customs authority in all land and sea border crossings.
