Borrell: Iraq's economic stability is of strategic importance to the European Union

Shafaq News/ The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, said on Wednesday that the European Union intends to develop partnership with Iraq, "especially in the geopolitical context in the aftermath of the wars between Russia and Ukraine," considering this partnership "important for stability and prosperity in the region."
"Iraq's economic stability in this troubled region is of strategic importance to the European Union and the Middle East region," Borrell said in a speech before the European Parliament.
He praised Iraq's efforts to promote regional dialogue, noting that it continues to encourage all actors to engage constructively in the pursuit of regional cooperation and full respect for Iraq's unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
