    Baghdad - Mawazine News,
Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani explained, on Saturday, the details of the second phase of the opening of the Baghdad Airport Road, while referring to the development of the airport rehabilitation and expansion project as one of the project's priorities.

Al-Sudani told the official news agency, "Today, decision-making and supervision of the process of allowing citizens to enter Baghdad International Airport," noting that "the first stage includes the entry of those leaving on their own wheels into the airport and travel."

And the Prime Minister indicated, "The second stage of opening the road is to allow the departing, as well as those who want to receive one of his friends or family members."

He added, "This measure is part of the government's directions towards removing everything that impedes the provision of service to the citizen," noting that "this is a kind of service, which is giving the citizen options to drive his personal car instead of a taxi, and park it in the garage at the airport."

He stressed, "The aviation sector is one of the important sectors and one of the facades of the country, and the service provided at the airport is one of the most important services that reflect the country's image, stability, quality of services, and the interest of the government and official authorities in citizens, including travelers."

He stated, "The aviation sector receives great attention from the government," pointing out that "since the beginning of the formation of the government, we have given this sector attention at various levels."

And he continued, "Baghdad Airport is an important interface in Iraq, so we put the airport rehabilitation and expansion project as one of the priorities of the projects that we are waiting for in the second half to start contracting after agreeing with the International Finance Corporation to prepare an investment portfolio for this airport and present it to the competent international companies," explaining that "It is hoped that these procedures will be completed in the second half, and we will start contracting so that we can witness a real process of expanding this important airport as an important point in air navigation, and we are witnessing a kind of management and operation of the airport by specialized companies."

And he stated, "The International Finance Corporation has successful experiences in several airports in the region, so our approach to this institution was to advance the status of the important airport." Ended 29/N33
