Independent politician Adnan Al-Tamimi confirmed, on Monday, that Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi lost all his fans in Diyala province after announcing opposition Sunni blocs.

In an interview with Al-Maalouma, Al-Tamimi said, "Buhriz, the most important city in southern Baquba, gave the Al-Halbousi party nearly 26,000 votes in the 2021 elections, and it was one of its most important strongholds at the level of the Baquba district, while it turned into the most prominent stronghold of the Al-Halbousi opposition."
He added, "The birth of the brave national coalition, which was headed by Representative Muhammad Qutayba al-Bayati, one of the defectors from sovereignty, means the loss of al-Halbousi in Baquba."
He pointed out that "Al-Bawasil is the one who dominates the situation in Buhriz and the outskirts of Baquba, especially with the tribal support that emerged through its founding conference," adding that "Buhriz is the second largest city after Baquba, which the Halbousi party loses."
Sovereignty in Diyala suffers from several problems that prompted the withdrawal of many of its leaders, in addition to a significant decline in its popularity. End 25F
