The abundant production of the wheat crop prompted the Ministry of Commerce to open new marketing centers to accommodate the marketed quantities of farmers during the current 2023 marketing season.
A ministry statement quoted the company's general manager, Haider Nuri Al-Karawi, as saying: "There is a significant increase in the pace of marketing in all governorates of the country for this year, which has led to the filling of the storage capacities of some of the company's sites in a number of governorates, which required the opening of new marketing centers to accommodate the quantities of wheat marketed from peasants".
And he added, "Yesterday morning, Friday, a new marketing center was opened in the worship square in the company's branch in Kirkuk Governorate, to accommodate (50) thousand tons of wheat, so that the site would be a storage capacity added to the three storage capacities specified for receiving the produced wheat, commensurate with the amount of production in the governorate."
Al-Karawi pointed out that "the current marketing season (the season of goodness and success) has achieved the goals set for it, thanks to the efforts of the staff working in the Grain Company, who have provided, since the tenth of April until now, lessons in will, patience and sacrifice in order to make the marketing season 2023 a success.
